Upcoming Meetings
Congaree National Park will be hosting a Weed Wrangle South Carolina event on Thursday September 26th. Joined by the Palmetto Garden Club, we will be hand-pulling beefsteak (Perilla frutescens) along a section of the park's West Boundary Road. The group will meet at the Visitor Center at 8:00 am for volunteer registration and orientation, shuttle to the work site, complete the beefsteak project, and shuttle back for lunch at the Visitor Center picnic shelter. If interested, RSVP to Lauren_Serra@nps.gov by September 20 and more details will be provided. Please plan for a remote morning of field work, a couple miles of walking, and potentially warm and buggy conditions in a beautiful floodplain forest.
